"Stimulus Package" Green Drink Recipe, Ken Walles

I thought you might enjoy this..

Here is what I call my "Stimulus Package" for all you who love the taste of fresh juice. This recipe also satisfies the need to go green... :)



(Serves 2 people). This drink is great to have 3 days per week.

Organic where possible. Greens are rinsed, carrots and apple scrubbed gently.

Process through your Juicer:

3 Kale leafs

2 Collard leafs

3-4 Daikon Greens

1/2 Cucumber

4-5 Sprigs of Parsley

3 Celery Stalks

1 Green Granny Smith Apple

4-5 Carrots, medium size

*optional - feel a cold coming on? Add a one inch cut of "GINGER"

Health Benefits:

Kale - kale eases lung congestion, benefits stomach and is a specific healer for the liver and the immune system. Its juice is medicinal for treating stomach and duodenal ulcers.


Collards - A mild-tasting Kale variety containing nearly the same amount of calcium as does milk.


Daikon - tonifies the lung and liver meridians. Contains diuretics, decongestants and digestive enzymes diastase, amylase and esterase. Effective against many bacterial and fungal infections and it contains a substance that inhibits the formation of carcinogens in the body.


Cucumber - A cooling food that clears heat, quenches thirst, relieves edema, and is an effective diuretic. Tends to restore normal health because of its ability to cleanse and purify the blood gradually alter the excretory process to restore normal body functions. It affecs the heart and stomach. Contains a digestive enzyme, erepsin, that breaks down protein, cleanses intestines and helps expel intestinal parasites, especially tapeworms.

Parsley - A digestive aid and a warming food and a blood purifier that helps stimulate the bowels, and treat kidney and gallstones, deafness and ear infections. Parsley is an anticarcinogen.


Celery - Reduces blood pressure by relaxing the muscle tissue in artery walls and enhancing blood flow. Celery is used for constipation, as a diuretic, to break up gallstones, relieve liver congestion and to heal wounds. Also treats arthritis, rheumatism and gout.

Apple - Especially green ones, cleanse the liver and gallbladder and help soften gallstones. They are cooling and act upon the spleen-pancreas and stomach meridians. Apple will also balance and cut the bitterness of the diakon greens.

Carrots - Carrots support the lungs, spleen-pancreas and liver and they tonify the kidneys. Diuretic in action, supporting elimnation of waste, preventing constipation, lowering blood sugar, purifying the blood and treating indigestion.

*Ginger - Stimulates digestion and boosts circulation, rerspiration, and nervous system function. Aids systemic cleansing through the skin, bowels, and kidneys. Ginger treats colds and fevers.
